The ImpENSA project aims to facilitate continued professional development and strengthen relations between higher education and the wider economic and social environment through the development of
the ImpENSA Training Programme.

The programme will equip healthcare professionals in South Africa with knowledge and skills to improve micronutrient nutrition and behaviour change in the first 1000 days of life.

Module 1:  Optimisation of micronutrient nutrition during the first 1000 days of life

  • Self-paced, online module using interactive media elements, case scenarios, videos and quizzes to facilitate learning about the importance and optimisation of micronutrient nutrition during the first 1000 days of life. 

  • Approximately 3 hours to complete.

Module 2: Communication to support behaviour change

  • Self-paced, online module using interactive media elements, case scenarios, videos and quizzes to facilitate learning about factors that affect health and influence change, and empowering person-centred approaches to support behaviour change.  

  • Approximately 2 hours to complete.

Overview of Module 2

Module 3: Healthy Conversation Skills to support behaviour change

  • A scheduled, virtual module consisting of 2 interactive 4 hour sessions presented via ZOOM by trained coordinators. It aims to develop practical skills to support behaviour change. 

  • Maximum 12 participants.
